Spotlights
Now this is more like it. Following the
pleasant but tepid "I Need You," Marc Anthony makes a
return to grandeur with "I've Got You," a clever, seasonal
anthem that sizzles out of the speakers like hot popcorn.
The track kicks in with the acoustic guitar sound of George
Michael's "Faith," adds an electric guitar via Boy George's
"The Crying Game," then struts out on its own with an
aggressive powerhouse melody that gives Anthony the chance
to stretch out his vocal chords in a mighty way. This is
one of the singer/song- writer's most creative singles yet,
produced with a magic wand by Ric Wake and penned by
Anthony main-stay Cory Rooney with Kara Dioguardi, who has
been building her own quiet storm wih recent tracks for
Celine Dion, Enrique Inglesias, and Jessica Simpson (she
also has a half dozen tracks on Anthony's upcoming Mended.)
This one is set to fire up the airwaves with its Latin-lite
beats and rapid-fire signature chorus, and marks
Marc's full-fledged re-entry point. ---
