Campaign Boosts Online Sales for Big Head Todd and the Monsters'
Latest Album
RadioWebStuff's targeted digital strategies help
to propel new album Riviera to #2 on the Billboard Internet Sales
Chart.
Los Angeles, April 22, 2002: RadioWebStuff, a new company
offering customized eMarketing solutions to labels, studios, management
firms and radio stations recently experienced great success promoting
Big Head Todd and the Monsters' latest album, Riviera. Working with
band manager Mark Bliesener and Rent-A-Label's Barry Lyons, RadioWebStuff
created a multi-tiered eMarketing campaign that targeted radio stations
and music consumers to augment the impact of the new release. The
launch of RadioWebStuff's initiatives on March 7 accomplished just
that, as Riviera soared to a #2 debut on the Billboard Internet
Sales Chart when it was released for sale in late March.
RadioWebStuff
Capitalizes on Viral eMarketing to Promote Band
The first phase of RadioWebStuff's eMarketing strategy consisted
of spreading the word about Big Head Todd's new album to radio.
By targeting a base of stations that fit specific format and history
criteria, RadioWebStuff was able to send customized e-mails prompting
stations to visit a special Big Todd and the Monsters' mini-site.
Using Macromedia Flash, audio and video applications, RadioWebStuff
created a feature-rich promotional site that allowed visitors to
peruse band photos, hear audio streams of new tracks, view an electronic
press kit, see the band's tour schedule and more.
The second phase of the eCampaign featured a consumer-based version
of the mini-site that was offered to radio stations for placement
on their own Web sites, or for distribution to their listener database.
Some of the participating radio stations included: KBCO - Denver-Boulder,
KTCZ - Minneapolis, WMMM - Madison, WKOC - Norfolk, KEYJ - Abilene
and KRBR - Duluth.
Big
Head Todd + Big Hits = A Big Hit on the Web
RadioWebStuff's promotional site received thousands of hits, and
helped Internet sales for Riviera skyrocket. As this was the first
full eMarketing campaign ever used by Big Head Todd, the sales results
were extremely satisfying to the band. "RadioWebStuff was crucially
important to the first phase of the radio promotion for Big Head
Todd and the Monsters' Riviera," according to band manager
Mark Bliesener. "Also, the efforts of RadioWebStuff were key
to the disc's attaining the #2 Internet sales position during BHTM's
first week of release. A cost-efficient job well done."
Barry
Lyons of Rent-A-Label was also pleased. "The RadioWebStuff
team did a great job with the design and implementation of our consumer
eCampaign and played a critical role in bringing it together with
radio. The result was a healthy first week on SoundScan, including
a #2 debut on the Internet Sales Chart."
